What is henna?

Henna is a dye released from the plant Lawsonia inermis. Historically, henna was used in the Arabian Peninsula, Indian subcontinent,Near and Middle East, Carthage, other parts of North Africa and the Horn of Africa. The name is used in other skin and hair dyes, such as black henna and neutral henna, neither of which is derived from the henna plant.

The leaves from this plant are dried and crushed into a fine powder and mixed with essential oils, water or lemon and sugar. The paste is then applied to skin in unique designs. once dried it leaves a deep mahogany stain that lasts for a few days.

What is Jagua?

What is Jagua?

Jagua, also known as Genipa Americana, is a tropical fruit native to South America. It bears a resemblance to a large plum and is often used for its juice. The juice of the jagua fruit has gained popularity for its natural dyeing properties, particularly in body art. When applied to the skin, jagua juice leaves a temporary blue-black stain that resembles a tattoo. This practice is often used in traditional body art and contemporary temporary tattooing. With its striking color and organic origin, jagua has become a beloved choice for those seeking a unique and natural form of body decoration.
